Up...

The Malaysia Classic Mini Information Center is UP!

Please do pay a visit, especially if you are a fan/enthusiast of classic Minis.

By the way, Dr Ismail Kamus is heading my way. He will deliver a speech at 1pm at SCS HQ. Must not miss this one.

Afterwards, I must go to Harakah office to donate blood.

PS: The title is Muzaffar's fav word in "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"..

Being A Caretaker

I have a few websites under my belt.

This one I'm currently doing. It's my company's. I plan to register it at MYNIC with a proper URL after it's fully updated.

This one, is mine. It's not updated for two years. I don't know whether to shelf it or do something about it. I guess, putting something that will stand the test of time will do just that, while keeping other people updated with changes in my life thru the weblogs I have.

This one, is a website about Mini that I did. At first, it became the MSVCR-MSM website. Then it was supposed to be a website about MASMA, a club-to-be that never materialize. I plan to revive this website to become the Malaysian Mini Information Center.

Another one, is sadly shelved. It's the SAMER9094 website supposedly at Tripod. It is no more.

The BDL Craze

I must find the BDL needle. STELLAR needs it badly. No, actually it's me.

I crave for the claimed fuel economy.

The end of the year is getting near.

I 'fraid that the petrol price will shoot up come next year.

Everything Else Is Superficial

The ship developed a similar problem, as mentioned by the ship staff to a colleague of mine on Saturday.

At first I decided to head to Lumut on Wednesday, but some conflict saw me going there a day later.

There's no major problem with the PLC. It just have this intermittent fault which caused it to run sometimes, and unrun sometimes.

But then again, it seems major.

Most hours are spent checking and rechecking the PLC, whether it will operate properly everytime switched on, or not. We repeat this 5 times. All OK.

Everything else is superficial.

We head back at 8pm.

All in all, we are relieved the ship air-cond works this time. We don't sweat as much, and tempers doesn't flare.

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

Load up on guns and
Bring your friends
It's fun to lose
And to pretend
She's over bored
And self assured
Oh no, I know
A dirty word

Hello, how low?

With the lights out it's less dangerous
Here we are now
Entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now
Entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My Libido
Yeah

I'm worse at what I do best
And for this gift I feel blessed
Our little group has always been
And always will until the end

Hello, how low? (x bunch of times)

With the lights out it's less dangerous
Here we are now
Entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now
Entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My Libido
Yeah

And I forget
Just why I taste
Oh yeah, I guess it makes me smile
I found it hard
It was hard to find
Oh well, whatever, nevermind

Hello, how low?

With the lights out it's less dangerous
Here we are now
Entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now
Entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My Libido
Yeah, a denial
A denial
A denial…

Trying To Master The HIF44

I've had some problem adjusting my HIF44 carb before. Today I tried to change that.

Armed with a half-length flathead, I try to find the new screw hole on the right hand side.

It's a bit flimsy at first, but think I have adjusted it a bit when the idle suddenly went to a complete stop. I guess it's already adjusted for max economy already.

Based on what I hear from the previous owner, the carb probably has the rich-type BDR mixture jet. And according to the HBOL, a 1990s Mini Cooper 1275 uses the BFY jet. I shall see what the IME ought to say about this.

Double Job Took A Toll

Been very tired and lazy today.

Woke up at around 10am. Some pain on my body. And a lazy attitude.

Must be the jamming session last night.

By the way, it's a satisfactory session, as far as I think and feel.

The traditional stick grip I had learnt proved very useful. I think I have more control of the beat strength, though I need to get used to it.

Drawback? I can't roll so fast like I did with symmetrical grip.

But I think it helped me with my singing. I find I don't struggle as much as before.

In fact, I did more singing last night.

But the double job really took a toll.

I had to rest for a few more hours, and straighten up my attitude, before heading back to Seremban.

Tomorrow will be my wife's younger sister's trip back to Ireland.

Gotta nap.

Beta Tester

finally sorted out my company website. It is a simple version of what I can call, beta version. I will host it temporarily at Tripod, which I just did. Finally it's done, sorta. Well, maybe some correction is needed.

With this job being done, I probably will be able to head to Lumut first thing next week.

Now, to concentrate on the jamming session tonight.

Some preparation I did, apart from lots of air drumming (with shticks of course!) is to drink a cup of Nescafe.

That cup will ensure I get to the desired keynote.

And Then Some

Today is our third anniversary. I'm far away at Paka, for Petronas Gas Berhad site maintenance. I just had to wish her that, but this time from a long distance.

I'm really itchy for a jamming session, so I can't wait. I heard from somebody that there is a jamming studio in Kemaman. Since we stayed there, we had to find it.

After quite an effort, we finally arrived at around 10.40pm, at a one-studio place.

We had an audience, but I didn't mind. I guess my guitarist's quite nervous, so he couldn't manage to play. So here I am, playing with strangers, with some karaoke-loving boys.

Muzaffar Drives

I think Muzaffar likes STELLAR.

Since STELLAR went to Paroi Jaya, Muzaffar can now get near to it at will, accompanied by his grandad of course.

Once he kept pulling the door opener and wanting to get in. He likes to drive you see.

He nearly got his driving license, on his 18th birthday (read: in months). If he finally gets it, I have to allow him to drive STELLAR.

Not Flying The Flag

I read somewhere that less people are flying the Malaysian flag commemorating the Malaysian Independence Day 2005.

Now I came to realize why.

Dissatisfaction with the government is one of the reason I can come up with.

For me, the biggest reason is, the government is not backing the people in consumer goods price control. That includes petrol price.

Plenty other reasons. AP, poverty (ever watched Bersamamu?), non-functioning people-representative (wakil rakyat) etc etc. Go figure!

As for me, it's been a long time since I stop flying the flag. I don't see any reason for, that's why.

I even remembered once in 1998, moments after a free flag was put on my mother's car's windscreen, we decided to unstick it and keep it in the car.

Fly the flag if you wish. I won't. Democracy is indeed good.

Muzaffar At The Screen

Me, my wife and my son went to the movies tonight.

We watched Bewitched.

I actually loved to see how Muzaffar was amazed at the large screen.

He seems so into the movie, at least for an hour or so.

Then he got bored.

Fortunately there was a lot of seats left, so we put him in one.

In 20 minutes, he was off to sleep.

All this made me remember the last time we brought him to the cinema, when Madagascar was shown. He did not act so positive then.

But I guess, from now on, we can bring him anytime to the big screen.

Somebody's Gotta Do It

Today was a tiring day. But it was worth the while.

Quite a significant number of people stopped by our exhibition booth.

Frankly speaking though, I'd rather not participate in such so-called generic exhibition like SMIDEX anymore. More non-seeker are walking around rather than genuine clients.

I'll make a mental note to stick to technical type exhibition only, such as DSA, ICA, TENAGA or IA.

Gotta head home for a much needed nap.

20050824

Surprise Surprise

Several mishaps happen today. Firstly, STELLAR did a full throttle stunt for several minutes, . Turns out the speedo cable had stuck itself at the throttle.

Nasty.

The Brother's interior car fan went broken too. I should've known better. I'm so wanting to return it to them.

On the other hand, a surprise awaits me at night. Stumbled upon an old friend of mine. Actually it's my ex-pet sister, or so she said, which I disagree anyway. She brought everybody shopping at Alamanda, her hubby and all four kids. The eldest is 15 and she's almost my height. The youngest is 9, which I thought is still 4.

It's my mindset acting up again I guess.

I have realized my mind will get itself stuck in the past sometimes, especially on sentimental stuffs.

20050822

Exhibition Syndrome

Tiring day today.

Tomorrow is exhibition day. Anticipation runs high.

Expect no less than everything tomorrow.

Uhh, I'm expecting too much.

Maybe just because I'm tired.

20050818

Not Amused

Not an amusing chain of event, to say the least.

First, last night, SYCLONE's exhaust tip dragged down the streets after a misfortune with a mock-up wood ramp. I nearly missed Mohd Sabu's speech.

This morning, lots of rain downs me quite a bit too. And I thought the engine will lose out in the rain.

It did, at Projet. I can't start it anymore after buying nasi lemak there.

Trying hard to not feel let down, I thought of the old-age idea of wiping the dampness inside the distributor cap. It is wet by the way.

After wiping, hey presto it starts! All the downed feeling I got suddenly was dismissed.

Mariah Carey - Vision Of Love

eated me kind
Sweet destiny
Carried me through desperation
To the one that was waiting for me
It took so long
Still I believed
Somehow the one that I needed
Would find me eventually

I had a vision of love
And it was all that you've given to me

Prayed through the nights
Felt so alone
Suffered from alienation
Carried the weight on my own
Had to be strong
So I believed
And now I know I've succeded
In finding the place I conceived

I had a vision of love
And it was all that you've given to me
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you've given me

I've realized a dream
And I visualized
The love that came to be
Feel so alive
I'm so thankful that I've received
The answer that heaven
Has sent down to me

You treated me kind
Sweet destiny
And I'll be eternally grateful
Holding you so close to me
Prayed through the nights
So faithfully
Knowing the one that I needed
Would find me eventually

I had a vision of love
And it was all that you've given to me
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you
Turned out to be

It's That Bad

Today is cool. So was the day before and the day before the day before. :?

Must be a good thing. At least for Mini owners with a car without air-conditioning.

The sun won't be seen for quite a while I guess, so while I'm driving, I won't be greenhoused in either SYCLONE or STELLAR for a long time.

Najib once said, "We are not releasing the API result of the haze". Translation: It's too bad we cannot release it.

20050810

SYCLONE Is A Keeper

I think I will probably keep SYCLONE for a while. At least until the end of the year.

STELLAR is not fully stable yet. Some more repairs or parts-replacement are still in order. So I will probably need a second car.

And SYCLONE is very mileage-friendly now. I got near-Wira mileage, which is 15km per liter.

I guess at 1.62rm per liter, I will probably drive SYCLONE more than STELLAR each week.

But then again, if my brother were to borrow SYCLONE for schooling, I would not mind lending it to him.

Nearly Lost It There

Sent STELLAR for the much-anticipated steering repairs.

It's close to 7.30pm when I arrive, I nearly miss Pak Syed. He was about to go home.

Some of the task for him to fulfill are:
Steering rack replacement
Small tacho rerouting
Speedo and large tacho fitment
Fuse holder replacement

The steering job probably will take a day or two.
